Music manager Peter Katsis dies at 69

Peter Katsis, a veteran American music manager, died on August 6, 2026 at age 69 in Los Angeles from complications of congestive heart failure.

Katsis began his career in Chicago in the early 1980s, discovering the industrial band Ministry and working as an A&R executive for Trax Records. After moving to Los Angeles, he became a partner at The Firm and co‑founded Prospect Park Entertainment in 2008. Over a 35‑year span he managed or advised a roster that included the Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Backstreet Boys, Jane’s Addiction, Morrissey, Audioslave, Snoop Dogg, Enrique Iglesias and many others. Artists such as Billy Corgan, Al Jourgensen and Gavin Rossdale posted tributes, noting his pivotal role in shaping alternative rock and pop music.
