Music Photography Awards 2026 announces shortlist

The shortlist for the 2026 Music Photography Awards has been announced, featuring 40 finalists selected from over 24,500 submissions across 42 countries. The nominees capture significant moments in contemporary music culture, including images of Liam Gallagher during the Oasis reunion tour and Charli XCX at the Glastonbury Festival.

Head judge Rankin described the current year as the strongest in the awards' five-year history, noting the exceptional technical quality and emotional energy of the entries. The competition includes a guest category celebrating 50 years of punk, with photographers Roberta Bayley and Masayoshi Sukita set to receive special recognition.

The finalists will be exhibited at the Outernet London entertainment complex from 8 to 14 September. Winners will be announced during a ceremony at Abbey Road Studios on 24 September.
