Music Time targets Golden Rose after Black Opal victory

Canberra-based trainer Gratz Vella is targeting elite three-year-old races for his gelding, Music Time. The horse, a winner of the Group 3 Black Opal Stakes and a third-place finisher in the Group 1 Golden Slipper, is scheduled to return this Saturday in the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes at Rosehill Gardens.

Vella noted that Music Time has progressed significantly since his two-year-old season. While the team initially considered The Kosciuszko, discussions with the Racing New South Wales Handicapper revealed the horse would carry 60 kilos as a three-year-old, prompting a shift in strategy toward the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes.
