Musical events draw crowds in Frankfurt and Hanau
Major musical events have taken place in the Frankfurt and Hanau regions of Germany.
The hr-Sinfonieorchester and the European Central Bank are hosting their ninth annual Europa Open Air concert at the Weseler Werft in Frankfurt am Main on August 20. Under the theme ‘Celebrating Europe’, the program features works by composers such as Hector Berlioz, Edvard Grieg, and George Gershwin. The hr-Bigband will perform with American jazz baritone Kurt Elling. The event is free to the public, with entry starting at 16:00.
In Hanau, the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt’s ‘Hanauer Sommernacht’ event drew a record crowd of over 10,000 attendees. The concert featured a crossover program titled ‘In 80 Days Around the World’, performing music ranging from John Barry’s film scores to hits by Freddie Mercury, Phil Collins, and Led Zeppelin.
