Musical festivals scheduled in Cologne and Wächtersbach

The Friedenskirche in Cologne-Mülheim will host the BACH26 festival from October 30 to November 1, 2026. Under the artistic direction of Christoph Spering, the event focuses on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and the Reformation. The program includes solo cantatas performed by Benno Schachtner and Tobias Berndt accompanied by the Neues Orchester, organ concerts, and a Reformation Day service featuring the cantata BWV 80. Admission is free, though donations are requested.

In Wächtersbach, the Klezmer-Freilach-Ensemble from Bad Orb is scheduled to perform at Schloss Wächtersbach on November 15, 2026. The ensemble, celebrating 25 years of performing traditional Eastern European Jewish folk music, will present a repertoire including melodies such as ‘Hava Nagila’ and ‘Fiddler on the Roof.’ The performance is set to take place in the Ferdinand-Maximilian-Saal.
