Musical heritage events announced in Poland

Several cultural events focused on musical heritage are scheduled in Poland. In Wilczyska, a concert will be held on September 27 at the parish church of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr. Performer Maciej Somerla will play the church’s historic 1861 organ, built by Józef Baranowski. The event also serves as a promotion for a newly released album documenting the sound of this 19th-century instrument.

Additionally, the Museum of Folk Musical Instruments in Szydłowiec is organizing an event on October 3 as part of the 7th National Competition for the Construction of Folk Musical Instruments. The museum is inviting instrument makers to showcase their craftsmanship, share technical knowledge, and demonstrate construction or repair techniques. The day will conclude with a concert featuring traditional folk bands from the Radom and Kielce regions.
