Musical HERO to be performed in Wakayama with 100 local participants
The musical “HERO: The Story of Kukai and a Youth” is scheduled to be performed at the Wakayama Prefectural Cultural Center on September 6. This production marks the fourth stop in a national tour and the first appearance in Wakayama.
Approximately 100 local participants, primarily children from the prefecture, will take the stage. The story follows a young man named Maito who, through a journey transcending time and following the footsteps of the Buddhist monk Kobo Daishi Kukai, learns the meaning of praying and serving for the happiness of others.
General producer Haruka Matsuoka stated that the production aims to convey the message that “light can always be seen” through its words and dance, intending to provide hope to the audience.
