Musical “Sonho Encantado de Cordel” to perform in Belém

The musical “Sonho Encantado de Cordel” is scheduled for three performances at the Theatro da Paz in Belém on October 17 and 18. The production, which has already reached over 80,000 spectators, is part of a national tour covering nine cities, including Manaus, Boa Vista, and Macapá.

The show features original music by Paulinho Moska, Chico César, and Zeca Baleiro. It is loosely inspired by the 2005 Imperatriz Leopoldinense carnival theme created by Rosa Magalhães, which honored Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. The plot follows Rosa Cordelista, a young woman aspiring to be a cordel author, as she enters an enchanted realm filled with fairy tale characters such as the Little Mermaid and the Snow Queen.

Presented by the Ministry of Culture and CAIXA Vida e Previdência, the production utilizes 14 actors, singers, and multi-instrumentalists to blend classical fairy tales with the poetic tradition of cordel literature.
