Musical traditions to be celebrated in Ioannina and Limassol
Several musical events celebrating regional traditions are scheduled in Greece and Cyprus.
In Ioannina, Greece, the event ‘Greece, a Musical Journey’ will take place on September 18, 2026, at Zeugari Square. Organized by the Municipality of Ioannina, the performance features musicians Lambros Tzokas, Alexandros Liokatis, Ioannis Kostadimas, and Ioannis Rountas. The program explores musical traditions from Epirus, Macedonia, and Thrace, utilizing instruments such as the clarinet, bagpipes, violin, and lute, alongside the saxophone.
In Limassol, Cyprus, the Lanitios Alumni and Friends Association presents ‘Beloved Cyprus’ at the Pattichio Theatre on September 29. The concert features singers Eleni Mavroudi, Paris Paraschos, Katerina Paraschou, and Lefteris Pitsillidis, accompanied by the Orpheus Musical Ensemble under the musical direction of Adimitos Pitsillidis. The event aims to highlight the evolution of modern Cypriot song, bridging traditional and contemporary sounds.
