Musical tributes held in La Banda and Paysandú

Various musical tributes are being held in South America to celebrate local heritage and iconic artists. In La Banda, Argentina, the ‘Serenata a La Banda’ gala will take place at Cine Renzi to mark the city’s 114th anniversary. The event, organized by the local Culture Council, features folk music performers including Alicia Pereyra and Darío Tévez, alongside dance performances from the Academia La Chacarera and the Municipal School of Dance.

In Paysandú, Uruguay, the ‘Sampayo 100’ concert will celebrate the centenary of musician Aníbal Sampayo’s birth. Held at Plaza Artigas, the free event features a diverse lineup of artists such as Ana Prada, Jorge Nasser, and Luciano Supervielle. Directed by Guzmán Mendaro, the concert aims to reinterpret Sampayo’s work through contemporary arrangements to reach new audiences.
