Musical tributes to Paulinho da Viola and traditional sertanejo scheduled in Brazil

Various musical events are scheduled across Brazil to celebrate traditional Brazilian genres. In Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, the Mirante Santa Rita will host the debut of ‘Tributo a Paulinho da Viola’ on November 1. This free performance, organized by musicians Raquel Dore, Sá Gabriel, and Flávio Danza, honors the 80th birthday of the renowned samba and choro composer. The show features local musicians performing classics such as ‘Argumento’ and ‘Timoneiro’.

In Guarulhos, the CEU Ponte Alta will host ‘Café Moda e Viola’ on the same day. This free event focuses on traditional ‘sertanejo raiz’ music and features artists including Vera Bianca e Regional, Beto Ramos e Rangel, Eduardo Viola e Dirceu, and Marlene Gomes e Orlando Alvorada. The program is organized by the Guarulhos Secretariat of Culture and Tourism to promote regional musical heritage.
