Musician An Hiếu composes score for “Tuổi thơ dữ dội” musical

Musician An Hiếu has composed ten original songs for the musical “Tuổi thơ dữ dội” (Fierce Childhood), produced by the Youth Theatre of Vietnam. Directed by Lê Ánh Tuyết, the production is adapted from the novel by Phùng Quán and is set in Huế during the resistance against the French.

The musical focuses on the emotional lives and fates of teenage scouts within the Trần Cao Vân Regiment. An Hiếu, who also serves as Deputy Director of the Military Symphony Orchestra, aimed to create a musical score that serves the narrative and characters without becoming repetitive. The music is designed to balance themes of childhood, combat, friendship, and the losses of war, highlighting the beauty and sacrifice of the young characters rather than focusing solely on tragedy.
