Musician detained in Oruro for alleged sexual abuse of a minor

A 54-year-old musician has been placed in preventive detention for three months in Oruro, Bolivia, following accusations of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl. The suspect, who identified himself as the owner of a musical group, allegedly used TikTok to contact the victim with false promises of employment.

According to Prosecutor Patricia Landaeta, the victim traveled from Cochabamba to Oruro after being lured by the job offer. Once there, the suspect allegedly committed sexual assaults and forced the minor to consume alcohol. The victim was able to contact her family, who then coordinated with the Special Force to Fight Violence (FELCV) to report the crime and locate the suspect in Challapata.

The suspect is currently being held at the San Pedro prison while investigations continue. Authorities noted that the individual may have prior criminal convictions.
