Musician dies in car rollover on AM-070 highway

A 17-year-old musician, Asafe Castro da Silva, died on Friday night following a car accident on the AM-070 highway, which connects Manaus to Manacapuru. The victim was driving a Fiat Palio when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled approximately three times.

The impact of the crash caused the teenager to be thrown roughly five meters from the vehicle. Although he showed signs of life immediately following the accident, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Asafe was a bassist who was reportedly traveling to a church rehearsal, carrying roses intended for religious decorations.

Family members have suggested the possibility that a truck may have cut off the vehicle before the rollover occurred, though authorities have not yet confirmed this theory. Local police and forensic experts are expected to investigate the scene, analyze the vehicle, and review security camera footage to determine the exact cause of the accident.
