Musician Nguyen Thanh Trung releases “Song Hong Noi Nho”

Musician Nguyen Thanh Trung has released his new song, “Song Hong Noi Nho” (Red River Nostalgia), to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital. This marks the tenth musical work the composer has written dedicated to Hanoi.

The piece is performed by opera artist Bui Thi Trang (Trang Bui), with musical arrangement by Duong Duc Thuy and music editing by Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung. The song utilizes the Red River as a symbol of time, memory, and emotion, moving beyond simple geography to explore themes of family, childhood, and love.

Musically, the track blends Vietnamese folk and love song sensibilities with Western ballad arrangements. The composition features a transition from atmospheric guitar and woodwinds to a more stable melodic structure, designed to evoke the feeling of memories surfacing through mist.
