Musician Talae Rodden killed in fatal tree fall near Mount Buller

Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Talae Rodden, also known as Ricewine, has died following a fatal accident near the Mount Buller ski resort in Victoria, Australia. The incident occurred around 9:15 am on Monday, August 10, when a large tree branch fell onto a vehicle traveling along Mount Buller Road.

Mr. Rodden, 27, was traveling with his mother, Sally Rodden, 64, at the time of the crash. Despite the arrival of advanced life support paramedics, Mr. Rodden died at the scene. His mother was transported to Wangaratta Hospital in serious condition with upper-body injuries.

The Rodden family is well-known in the Merrijig, Mansfield, and Mount Buller communities, where his parents previously managed mountain lodges and a retail shop. Mr. Rodden was a rising musician whose song ‘Summer Spent’ had garnered over 1.1 million views on YouTube.
