Musicians Syndicate to investigate members over social media defamation

The Musicians Syndicate, led by Mostafa Kamel, has announced immediate legal investigations into members who use social media platforms, specifically Facebook, to post grievances, insults, or defamatory content against colleagues.

The syndicate's board issued a statement warning against the rising trend of publishing videos and posts under the guise of complaints that include slander and damage to reputations. The board emphasized that official complaints must be filed through the syndicate's legal affairs department rather than social media. According to Law No. 35 of 1978, serious complaints are referred to the State Council advisors for investigation.

The board also warned members against following suspicious pages managed by non-members, including expelled individuals and those with ulterior motives. The syndicate has mandated that anyone who has previously posted offensive content must delete it immediately or face legal action. The board reaffirmed its authority to regulate member conduct and maintain the institution's dignity.
