Musikfonds announces funding deadline for music projects

The Musikfonds, one of Germany's five federal cultural funds, has announced that the application deadline for its third small funding round of 2026 is August 31. This round targets projects scheduled for implementation in October, November, or December 2026.

Funding priorities for this round include experimental music across all genres, with a specific focus on projects located in rural areas, structurally weak regions, and public spaces. The maximum grant amount available is 3,000 euros, provided the total project costs do not exceed 10,000 euros.

Founded ten years ago by former State Minister for Culture and Media Prof. Monika Grütters in cooperation with seven music industry associations, the Musikfonds has distributed over 62 million euros to more than 6,200 projects and scholarships. The organization will celebrate its anniversary in Berlin on October 13.
