Muskiz and Monesterio replace artificial turf at municipal sports venues
The Muskiz City Council will invest roughly €300,000 to install a new FIFA‑certified, rubber‑free artificial turf at the El Malecón Berria field, with an additional €90,000 earmarked for LED floodlights. Work is slated to begin in September and is expected to be completed within two weeks, causing temporary relocation of training sessions.
In Monesterio, the municipal government is allocating €14,000, funded through the provincial Cohesiona Plan, to replace the heavily used artificial surface on the El Tejar multi‑sport courts. The upgrade aims to restore cushioning and improve safety for children and youth, with completion targeted for the same weekend to allow rapid resumption of activities.
