Muslim communities celebrate Maouloud in Tillabéri and Médinatoul Dieylani

Muslim communities in West Africa have held celebrations to commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, known as Maouloud or Mawlid.

In Tillabéri, religious gatherings took place under the direction of Cheikh Abdoul Karim. The night was dedicated to reading the Holy Quran, performing prayers, and engaging in zikr (remembrance of God) and istighfars (seeking forgiveness). The event served as a moment for religious transmission and community cohesion through the recitation of hadiths and religious songs.

In Médinatoul Dieylani, located in the Kaolack region, thousands of disciples gathered for the celebration under the authority of Caliph Cheikh Ibrahima Diallo. The religious city, founded in 2004 by Cheikh Mouhidine Alpha Samba Diallo, hosted pilgrims who gathered to hear the history of the Prophet. During the ceremony, Cheikh Ibrahima Diallo encouraged followers to draw inspiration from the values and teachings of the Prophet's life.
