Muslim student assaulted on Uttar Pradesh train after refusing alcohol

A Muslim madrasa student, identified as Muntasir, was allegedly assaulted by a group of intoxicated men while traveling on a train from Meerut to Deoband in Uttar Pradesh. The victim reported that the group repeatedly pressured him to consume alcohol. After he refused and attempted to distance himself by changing seats and coaches, the men allegedly followed him, verbally abused him, and physically attacked him.

Muntasir was reportedly forced to disembark at Khatauli station, where the attackers allegedly stole his mobile phone and cash. The incident has prompted renewed discussions regarding the safety of Muslim passengers on trains in the region, drawing comparisons to a fatal incident in April where a madrasa teacher, Maulana Tausif Raza Mazhari, was killed after being pushed from a moving train near Bareilly.
