Sheikh Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL), has arrived in Abuja to participate in an international security conference and inaugurate the Muslim World League Mosque.

Jointly organized by the MWL, the Saudi Arabian government, and Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) Nigeria, the two-day summit is themed ‘International Conference on Security for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development.’ The event aims to explore the connections between peace, security, and socio-economic growth while addressing Nigeria's specific security challenges, such as terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry.

Participants include religious leaders, policymakers, and various stakeholders. The conference focuses on fostering dialogue and mutual understanding between Muslims, Christians, and other faith groups to promote national unity and peaceful coexistence. Nigerian officials noted that the summit arrives at a critical time as the country works to strengthen its national security architecture and pursue socio-economic reforms.
