Muslim World League official addresses family protection in Cairo
During the opening session of the 11th International Conference for Fatwa in Cairo, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Zaid, Deputy Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, addressed the family as a major civilizational issue. He emphasized that family stability is no longer just a private social or educational matter but a critical issue intersecting with global policies, technology, and cultural shifts.
Dr. Al-Zaid highlighted that modern technological advancements and digital platform algorithms are rapidly reshaping social behaviors, potentially undermining family centrality and widening generational gaps. He noted that while technology offers benefits, it must not be allowed to threaten human dignity or displace the role of parents. The conference, organized by Dar al-Ifta al-Misriyyah, aims to develop jurisprudential approaches to protect the family unit and preserve religious and national identity amidst these rapid global transformations.
