Muslims celebrate Mevlud in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina and around the world are observing Mevlud, the celebration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad. According to the calendar of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the observance falls on August 25.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the occasion is marked by a long-standing tradition of religious programs in mosques and homes, including the recitation of the Quran, salavats, and hymns. Historical Bosnian authors such as Safvet-beg Bašagić have contributed to this tradition through Mevlud poetry.

In Brčko, the Islamic Community Council is organizing the “Ti si ruža džennetska” manifestation. This series of events includes spiritual, cultural, and humanitarian activities such as book promotions, religious forums, and voluntary blood donations. The central celebrations begin at the White Mosque with a lecture by Dr. Ahmed-ef. Hatunić.
