Mustafa Ali sidelined with punctured lung and fractured ribs

TNA International Champion Mustafa Ali has been sidelined after sustaining a punctured lung and fractured ribs during the Lockdown 2026 event. The injuries occurred during a Steel Cage match against Jason Hotch, where Ali successfully regained the TNA International Championship.

Ali confirmed the extent of his injuries via social media, stating, “At #TNALockdown I unfortunately suffered a punctured lung and fractured ribs. I will be back.” TNA Wrestling also released an official injury report during the August 27 episode of IMPACT!, noting that the champion is currently out of action for an undisclosed period and is being monitored closely by medical staff.

Due to Ali’s absence, John Skyler substituted for him in a scheduled match on the August 27 broadcast. The promotion has not yet announced an interim title plan or a specific timeline for Ali’s return.
