Mustafa Çiftçi announces progress in stray animal collection efforts
Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi has announced that efforts to collect stray animals across the country have reached a 99.7 percent completion rate. He stated that the goal is to move animals from the streets to shelters to address public safety concerns, such as attacks on women and children, and to mitigate risks like traffic accidents and animal disease.
Çiftçi encouraged animal lovers to visit shelters and adopt animals to provide them with homes. He emphasized that the current system aims to provide better living conditions, including food and medical treatment, within municipal shelters rather than leaving animals to face hunger and illness on the streets.
