Mustafa Çiftçi warns of disinformation security threats

Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi has issued a warning regarding the impact of disinformation on digital platforms. He stated that false content spreading rapidly online is not merely incorrect news but a significant security issue that can undermine social peace, erode public trust, and damage national unity.

Çiftçi noted that inaccurate information can reach large audiences within seconds, potentially manipulating public perception and blurring the line between truth and falsehood. He emphasized that the Ministry of Interior is working both in the field and digitally to combat these threats, asserting, “We will respond to the speed of lies with the power of truth.”

The Minister also called on citizens to exercise caution and verify information before sharing it on social media, urging them to question claims rather than contributing to the spread of rumors.
