Mustafa Zahid reacts to vocal tribute in Awarapan 2

Pakistani singer Mustafa Zahid expressed deep emotion after hearing his vocals from the 2007 original film used in the opening scene of the sequel, Awarapan 2. The film, which released on August 14, 2026, has reportedly grossed over ₹153 crore worldwide.

Zahid, whose songs ‘Toh Phir Aao’ and ‘Tera Mera Rishta’ were central to the original film's identity, noted that while geopolitical tensions prevented him from being part of the official recording roster for the new project, he felt honored by the tribute. He stated that he never had an issue with making space for new voices, emphasizing that his primary desire was to receive ‘dignity and due credit’ for his contributions to the franchise.

Reflecting on his 19-year journey with these songs, Zahid shared that the audience's reaction to his voice in the theater provided a sense of profound personal validation.
