Mutares acquires Symrise US terpene business AmeriTerpenes

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has acquired AmeriTerpenes LLC, the US-based terpene ingredients business of Symrise Inc., through a carve-out transaction. The acquisition is intended to serve as a new platform within Mutares’ Chemicals & Materials segment.

AmeriTerpenes produces natural, terpene-based ingredients derived from renewable pine wood raw materials. Its product portfolio includes substances such as Dihydromyrcenol, Linalool, and Anethol, which are used in perfumes, household products, and food and beverage flavorings. The company holds a leading market position for several core products, including being the largest North American manufacturer of Dihydromyrcenol.

The business generates approximately USD 200 million in revenue and employs about 170 people. AmeriTerpenes operates two production sites located in Jacksonville, Florida, and Colonels Island, Georgia, serving customers primarily in North America and other international markets.
