Mutares finalizes acquisition of Magna's Car Top Systems business
Mutares SE & Co. KGaA announced the completion of its acquisition of the Car Top Systems (CTS) business from Magna. The deal, valued at roughly €75 million, establishes CTS as an independent global automotive supplier focused on roof and aerodynamic kinematic systems.
CTS, founded in 1996 as a joint venture between Mercedes‑Benz AG and Porsche AG, is headquartered in Bietigheim‑Bissingen and operates sites in Germany, Poland, China, Mexico and Japan. It supplies leading automotive manufacturers across sports, luxury, premium and high‑volume segments with convertible tops, sliding/folding roofs and spoilers. The acquisition strengthens Mutares’ Automotive & Mobility segment, specifically the HILO Group, by adding CTS’s expertise in complex roof architectures to HILO’s portfolio of hinges, locking systems and other essential components.
