Mutares receives offer to sell controlling stake in Lapeyre Group

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has received an irrevocable offer to sell a controlling stake in its portfolio company, Lapeyre Group, to an investment vehicle led by a group of Italian entrepreneurs. The buyers include members of the ownership families behind Bricofer and Conforama Italia, aiming to leverage industrial synergies in the home improvement and furniture sectors.

Lapeyre Group is a leading French manufacturer and retailer of home improvement products, including windows, doors, kitchens, and bathrooms. The company operates 115 stores in France and nine production sites, employing approximately 2,000 people and generating an annual turnover of around EUR 475 million.

Under the terms of the agreement, Mutares will retain a minority stake in Lapeyre and continue to support the company’s turnaround efforts. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary employee representative consultations. This move aligns with Mutares’ strategy to refocus its portfolio on sectors such as chemicals, energy, infrastructure, logistics, and services.
