Mutares sells Prénatal Netherlands to CEO Jochem van Bueren

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has sold Prénatal Netherlands, a leading omnichannel retailer for mother and child products, to the company’s CEO, Jochem van Bueren. The transaction was fully financed, with signing and closing occurring simultaneously.

Prénatal Netherlands operates 34 stores and an e-commerce platform, generating approximately EUR 80 million in revenue. The divestment is part of Mutares’ broader strategy to reduce its exposure to the retail and automotive sectors while shifting its portfolio focus toward chemicals, energy, infrastructure, logistics, and services.

Since being appointed CEO in January 2026, van Bueren has worked to strengthen the company’s commercial offerings and optimize its cost base. The sale allows Prénatal Netherlands to operate as an independent company.
