Muto Seiko adopts Autodesk Moldflow for automated cooling channel design as global injection‑molding market set to hit $

Japanese mold maker Muto Seiko Co., Ltd., celebrating its 70th anniversary, has introduced Autodesk’s Moldflow Insight software to automate the design of cooling water channels in additively‑manufactured (AM) molds. Using the tool’s cooling‑channel optimisation feature, the company can generate a complete layout in about 48 hours, reducing reliance on individual designers’ experience and standardising quality. The system analyses cavity surface temperature distribution to produce uniform cooling, allowing rapid revisions and providing objective data for customer communication.

Separately, a QY Research report projects the worldwide injection‑molding‑machine market to reach US$10,140 million in 2026 and grow at a 1.4 % CAGR through 2032. Growth is driven by higher demand for plastic parts in automotive, electronics, packaging and medical sectors, and by technological trends such as AI‑enabled process control, fully electric machines, and integrated smart‑factory solutions. Companies such as ENGEL, Haitian International, KraussMaffei, ARBURG, Sumitomo Heavy Industries, FANUC, Yizumi, Husky, Milacron and Shibaura are highlighted for their innovations, including AI‑based condition optimisation and energy‑recovery features.
