Mutua aims to complete acquisition of Colombia's Seguros del Estado

Spanish insurer Mutua expects to finalize its acquisition of the remaining 55% stake in Colombia's Seguros del Estado by the end of 2026. Upon completion, Mutua will hold 100% control of both Seguros del Estado and Seguros de Vida del Estado, two major private insurance entities in Colombia.

Mutua has held a 45% stake in the Colombian group since 2020. Seguros del Estado reported annual premiums exceeding 353 million euros last year. The Colombian operations contributed 16.3 million euros to Mutua's total 2025 profit of 520.8 million euros.

This move aligns with Mutua's broader expansion strategy within the Pacific Alliance region, which includes Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Mexico. The company already maintains a significant presence in Chile through BCI Seguros.
