Muzaffarpur authorities seize 30 million rupee charas shipment
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and the Special Task Force (STF) seized approximately three kilograms of charas, valued at an estimated 30 million rupees, in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Two individuals were arrested during the operation.
Acting on intelligence received on October 17 and 18 regarding smuggling from Nepal, authorities monitored areas near the India-Nepal border. On the morning of October 18, security agencies intercepted a suspect on the Narkatiaganj-Muzaffarpur MEMU train arriving from Bapudham Motihari at Muzaffarpur Junction.
Interrogation revealed that the drugs were sourced from Nepal and were intended for delivery to Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. The suspects reportedly planned to use multiple trains and delay shipments to evade detection by security agencies. Following the initial arrest, the joint team apprehended a second individual identified as a supplier.
