Muzaffarpur dancer Sarika Pal found dead, hanging in rented room

A 22‑year‑old dancer from Lucknow, identified as Sarika Pal (also known as Muskan), was discovered hanging from a rope in her rented room on the ground floor of a building in the Chaturbhuj area of Muzaffarpur, Bihar, on Tuesday afternoon. Neighbouring tenants reported hearing no response when they knocked, and upon forcing the door open they found her body suspended by a dupatta. Police and a forensic science laboratory (FSL) team arrived, seized the dupatta, her mobile phone, cigarettes and other evidence, and sent the body to Shri Krishna Medical College & Hospital for post‑mortem examination. Initial police statements, including those by ASP Suraj Kumar, suggested the incident appeared to be a suicide, though no suicide note was found and the final cause will be determined after the post‑mortem and further investigation. A First Information Report (FIR) will be filed after the family’s written complaint.
