Muzaffarpur teen rescued after 85 days of trafficking across Kolkata and Baghpur

A 12th‑grade student from Muzaffarpur, Bihar left home on 10 May after a dispute with her brother. She was approached by a man who promised her a job in Kolkata. The girl was taken to Kolkata, where she was forced into a red‑light area, and later moved to another red‑light district in Baghpur, Bihar. Her family filed a missing‑person report, prompting the Muzaffarpur police to form a special team. After 85 days, the team rescued the girl and returned her to her family. Police are now investigating the trafficking network that lured her with false employment promises and moved her between cities. The case highlights ongoing concerns about human‑trafficking rings targeting teenage girls in the region.
