Muzan Kibutsuji ranked as top anime boss character in reader survey

In commemoration of Boss Day, recent surveys and features have highlighted popular “final boss” and leader characters in anime and gaming.

Muzan Kibutsuji from ‘Demon Slayer’ secured first place in a reader survey for four consecutive years, with approximately 15 percent of respondents selecting him. Fans praised his consistent presence as the primary antagonist and his ability to blend into human society.

Other top-ranked characters include Bowser from ‘Super Mario Bros.’, Zoma from ‘Dragon Quest III’, and Fyodor D from ‘Bungo Stray Dogs’, who tied for second place.

In addition to villainous figures, media features have highlighted diverse leadership styles, ranging from the benevolent Rimuru Tempest in ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’ to the authoritative Ainz Ooal Gown in ‘Overlord’. These characters represent a spectrum of leadership, from those who rule through fear to those who are deeply admired by their subordinates.
