MÁV announces enhanced train services for Strand Festival
MÁV-csoport has announced an enhanced and intensified train schedule to accommodate travelers for the Strand Festival in Zamárdi, held between August 19 and 22. To facilitate travel, air-conditioned Tópart Express and Balaton InterCity trains will depart from Budapest's Déli Railway Station hourly, reaching Zamárdi in approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Direct services will also be available from cities including Szeged, Debrecen, Miskolc, and Szolnok.
For nighttime travel, 'Bagoly' (Owl) trains will operate hourly toward Budapest and Fonyód, while services to Siófok will run every half hour. Local night buses in Siófok will provide connections toward Veszprém. To manage the high volume of travelers, MÁV is increasing capacity, including extra services on August 23 for the return journey. Passengers are advised to purchase tickets in advance, with a 15 percent discount available for tickets bought via the MÁVPlusz application. Note that seat reservations are mandatory for InterCity and Express services.
