MÁV-group announces railway maintenance and replacement buses

MÁV-group has announced several railway maintenance projects in Hungary that will require the use of replacement buses on specific routes.

On the Hatvan-Szolnok line, replacement buses will operate in two phases: between Hatvan and Jászberény from October 9 to 15, and between Jászberény and Újszász from October 16 to 18. The maintenance involves track regulation across 13 kilometers, replacing over 300 sleepers, and swapping switches in Jászberény. These works aim to eliminate speed restrictions on nearly five kilometers of the line.

Additionally, replacement buses will run between Tapolca and Balatonfüred from October 12 to 15. This work includes replacing rails, rebuilding tracks, and replenishing ballast on sections between Badacsonytomaj and Badacsonytördemic-Szigliget, Zánka-Köveskál and Révfülöp, and Révfülöp and Badacsonytomaj. Travelers are advised to check updated schedules via MÁV mobile applications or official websites.
