MVM Csoport and Rába report divergent H1 financial results
Hungarian companies reported divergent financial results for the first half of the year. MVM Csoport saw significant growth, with operating revenues rising 2% to 2,054 billion forints. The group's EBITDA increased by 9% to 519 billion forints, while after-tax profit rose 27% to 282 billion forints. This growth was supported by the wholesale and infrastructure segments, including increases in electricity and natural gas sales volumes. MVM also reported that over 90% of its generated electricity came from carbon-neutral sources.
In contrast, Rába Járműipari Holding Nyrt. reported a decline in performance. The company's revenue for the first six months was 24.8 billion forints, a 13.9% decrease compared to the same period in the previous year. The company recorded a taxed loss of 97.6 million forints. EBITDA for the first half of the year stood at 1.09 billion forints, representing a 73.7% decrease year-on-year.
