MVM Next has issued a warning regarding an increase in phishing attacks targeting its customers. Scammers are using SMS, emails, phone calls, and fraudulent websites to impersonate the energy provider.
These fraudulent messages often use the company’s official logos and colors to create a sense of urgency. Common tactics include threatening to disconnect services due to unpaid debts or claiming the recipient has won a prize. The primary goal of these attacks is to steal sensitive information, including bank card details, login credentials, PIN codes, and passwords.
MVM clarified that while official debt notification SMS messages may be sent, they will never contain a link for direct payment. Customers are advised to avoid clicking links in suspicious messages and instead use the official MVM website, the mobile application, or established customer service channels to verify their account status.
