MVP sets 2027 as target for professional wrestling retirement

Professional wrestler MVP has announced a target retirement year of 2027. Speaking on the Marking Out podcast, the 52-year-old AEW veteran explained that advancing age and a decline in physical explosiveness have influenced his decision to conclude his in-ring career.

MVP noted that his desire for singles matches and high-intensity competition has decreased over time. While he intends to retire fully after 2027, he expressed willingness to participate in trios matches if requested by AEW President Tony Khan, specifically noting he is open to teaming again with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin as members of The Hurt Syndicate.

Despite his upcoming exit, MVP stated he would decline any offers for a farewell AEW World Championship run, preferring to focus on limited, controlled appearances rather than extended title storylines.
