Mwani Qatar vessel arrivals rise 20 percent in September

Mwani Qatar reported a 20 percent increase in vessel arrivals in September, with 160 vessels docking at its ports. Container throughput reached 54,086 TEUs, a 10 percent rise from August.

Activity was recorded across Hamad Port, Doha Port, and Ruwais Port. The ports also handled 40,513 tonnes of general cargo and 17,178 tonnes of bulk cargo. Livestock imports saw a significant increase, rising 38 percent from August to 8,239 heads.

This growth occurred despite regional trade disruptions caused by tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. While maritime traffic through the waterway remains below pre-war levels, there has been a gradual increase in vessel movements, including Qatar-linked LNG traffic.
