Máximo Zurita, prominent Deportivo Morón supporter, dies at 58

Máximo Manuel Zurita, a well-known figure among Deportivo Morón supporters known as ‘Gordo Cadena’, died on Tuesday at age 58 following a sudden cardiac arrest. His funeral was held at the Nuevo Francisco Urbano stadium, attended by club officials, players, coaching staff, and supporters from other clubs including Tigre and All Boys.

Zurita had been linked by the family of Daniel Hernán García to the 1995 murder of a Platense supporter during the Copa América in Paysandú, Uruguay. While the victim's family had previously pointed to Zurita in relation to the investigation, he died without ever being convicted of the crime. The murder case remains without convictions nearly three decades later.
