MXR releases analog Flanger/Doubler pedal
MXR has released a compact, all-analog Flanger/Doubler pedal, reimagining a classic rack-mount unit in a stompbox format. The pedal utilizes bucket-brigade circuitry to provide authentic vintage modulation textures.
The device features two primary modes: a Flanger mode for sweeping, metallic resonance and a Doubler mode designed to thicken tones through offset layering. Controls include settings for Manual, Width, Speed, Regen, and Mix, alongside an Invert switch to reverse the wet signal's polarity. For professional use, the pedal includes dual front-panel LEDs for visual feedback and CV In/Out jacks for synchronization with synthesizers and sequencers.
The original rack unit was a staple in heavy metal history, notably used by Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell to bolster his tone. The new pedal has already seen live use by Zakk Wylde during Pantera Celebration performances, receiving endorsements from members of the band.
