My Chemical Romance performs theatrical ‘Black Parade’ set at Citi Field

My Chemical Romance performed a sold-out show at Citi Field in Queens on August 9 as part of ‘The Black Parade 2026’ tour. The performance featured a highly theatrical production where the band played ‘The Black Parade’ album in its entirety.

The show utilized an elaborate stage setup including large LED screens, extensive lighting, pyrotechnics, and a giant mechanical eyeball that projected images. The narrative of the performance was set within a maximum-security prison, featuring a storyline involving the character Gerard Way. The production included appearances by actor Charlie Saxton and Charlotte Kelso as Nurse Sylvia.

Franz Ferdinand opened the event with a 10-song set. Following the full album performance, My Chemical Romance played a second set consisting of a compilation of songs from their other albums, including deep cuts and an orchestral version of ‘Demolition Lovers’.
