My Voice, My Choice campaign targets improved abortion access in Europe
The My Voice, My Choice campaign is entering a new phase aimed at translating European Commission decisions into practical steps for improving abortion access. The initiative seeks to establish a breakthrough program where a European country or region utilizes EU funds to enhance reproductive services.
Organizers are currently exploring opportunities in France, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, and Belgium. They plan to collaborate with governments, political parties, Members of the European Parliament, and various organizations. In early September, the team intends to meet with Commissioners Hadja Lahbib and Roxana Mînzatu in Brussels to advocate for more active Commission involvement.
Additionally, the movement is addressing the rise of organized online attacks and hate speech. The campaign coordinator, Nika, reported experiencing coordinated threats and AI-generated sexual deepfakes intended to intimidate and silence her advocacy work.
