Vietnam targets Group A title in ASEAN Cup 2026 ahead of Cambodia clash

Vietnam ASEAN Cup 2026 Group A top scorer race Myanmar

Vietnam's national team leads Group A of the ASEAN Cup 2026 with seven points after a 3‑0 victory over Indonesia. Coach Kim Sang‑sik says a win against Cambodia in the final group match will secure the top spot and a home‑ground advantage for the semifinals.

Myanmar advanced in Group B with a 7‑2 win over Laos, highlighted by striker Win Naing Tun’s hat‑trick. The win keeps Myanmar in contention for a semifinal place and ties the tournament’s top‑scorer race with Indonesia’s Mitchell Baker, each on four goals.

Malaysia will be without midfielder Endrick dos Santos and defender Jimmy Raymond after injuries, limiting their options for the decisive game against the Philippines. Thailand remains unbeaten with nine points in Group B but could be eliminated if it suffers a heavy defeat to Myanmar, as tie‑breakers rely on head‑to‑head results and goal difference. Cambodia has already been eliminated from semifinal contention.
