Mychal Threets, the host of the 'Reading Rainbow' digital revival, has shared updates regarding a recent mental health crisis. Threets, a 36-year-old librarian known online as ‘Mychal the Librarian,’ confirmed he underwent a five-day psychiatric hold at a hospital after expressing that he was ‘not okay’ in social media posts earlier this month.

Following his release, Threets reported a milestone of seven consecutive days without experiencing intrusive thoughts of self-harm. He expressed gratitude to medical professionals and his supporters, stating, ‘We’re still here.’ Threets is set to succeed LeVar Burton as the host of the program's digital relaunch.
